Understanding 21st Century China in Buddhist Asia: History, Modernity, and International Relations
The book is composed of three sections: history, modernity, and diplomacy. However, these perspectives are not boundaries, as history of Buddhism shapes Buddhist modernity while modernity gives senses to diplomacy. The history of Buddhism is in itself simultaneously a dimension of diplomatic history that likewise proceeds through the arrival of modernity.
